The Gildenburgh Choir is a long established SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor & Bass) choir with about 35 members drawn from the city of Peterborough in the East of England, and the surrounding areas, who meet once a week (Mondays) during term-times to rehearse for our concerts and have a chat during the break.

We sing a wide range of songs from classical choral works to modern popular music and organise three major concerts of our own each year, one just before Christmas, one in the spring, which may be a major choral work with talented guest soloists or a lighter mixed music concert that can be performed at more than one venue, and our summer concert in July where we perform popular arrangements, including those from shows, in a relaxed cabaret style setting with food and wine. Throughout the year we also do additional performances in the area at a variety of venues, some of which are for charity.

As well as having an enthusiastic Musical Director we are extremely lucky to have a very talented accompanist, David Wheeler, who supports us during rehearsals and performances.

During the year we also arrange social occasions to which partners are invited.

In April 2017 we made a very successful visit to the Isle of Man for 4 nights during which time we performed in two concerts, one at Peel Cathedral and the other with a joint concert with two local choirs, in Douglas where we were staying. We also did some sightseeing tours of the island..
